Beautiful Monday morning today, albeit cold.  Had a nice, though crazy, weekend. My oldest came home from college and brought a friend. She's a super nice girl and they will be roomates next year at App State. My son enjoyed having them around to hang out with as he gets a little lonely without his sisters around (though he would NEVER admit this).

Saturday was CRAZY. I had to pick up L at a sleepover by 9am and C had to be at band practice at 9am. I went 40 min to pick L up, then to town another 20 to get her friend, and then 40 min to her dad's to drop her off. Still don't know why I was delegated to pick her up! Then I went back to town another 40 min to chaperone all day band practice, and drop off R and her friend to babysit. After standing around at band for 3 hours of doing nothing!, I got out of that duty and had R go pick up L and come back and get me. I then took 5 (yes five!) teenage kids to the mall for 5 hours, and then out to dinner. The waitress at the restaurant was so sweet=she brought me a red velvet cupcake as a reward for taking all those kids out to dinner. It was hilarious. By the time I got home at 10pm, I was sore and grumpy, and had used up almost an entire tank of gas running between 3 cities.

Sunday we at least got to sleep in. And of course, snow was forecast for the northern mountains, where R's college is, and I had to take her back. I considered having them go back in the morning, before the band concert, but she refused. That was actually why they came home this weekend-to see her brother play. So, I borrowed a four wheel drive truck, and around 4 pm when the concert let out, headed up to Boone, NC, very nervous about the heavy snow forecast. And, of course, about half way there, we had to put it in 4 wheel drive and slow down. Made it in good time. The drive back was harrowing though. It was dark by then (its a 2.5 hour drive in good weather). The snow was coming down so hard it was hard to see and it was foggy too. I could barely see the road, and had to drive about 25-30 mph. for 2 hours. Thankfully, the last 1.5 hours it cleared up and was easy sailing the rest of the way home. Hopefully, I won't have to do that again anytime soon.!!!

Glad it is Monday, and that the sun is again shining!!!
